weddings

Weddings and commitment ceremonies allow couples and their families and friends to celebrate the commitment and love shared by two individuals who have chosen to experience life’s joys together.

Unitarian Universalists do not have one standard wedding service. Each ceremony is crafted in accordance with the unique wishes of the participants involved. Our minister would be delighted to officiate at your ceremony and to accommodate your spiritual practices and traditions.  At least one meeting in person is required.  We promote the equal right of lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, and genderqueer people to marry.

TUS is situated on a beautiful wooded lot with a sanctuary garden.  This space can accommodate a ceremony with a small wedding party.  Our unique sanctuary, with its natural wooden walls and comforting, warm space holds 120 occupants.

TUS members pay no fee for use of the building/grounds or the services of the minister; a donation can be made to the Minister’s Discretionary Fund. For those who are not members, fees do apply. For all, there are fees for the services of the music director and for sexton services.

If you are interested in holding any part of your wedding at The Unitarian Society, please contact our Office Administrator at uutus@comcast.net.
